SFIC (small format interchangeable core) locks are designed to make replacing or rekeying a lock as simple as taking out the lock core and replacing it with new SFIC core lock. These lock are sometimes called removable core locks or removable locks. I will be discussing three types of SFIC locks; the Arrow Point SFIC Lock, the Medeco KeyMark X4 and the NexGen XT electronic SFIC. All three of these removable core locks will retrofit into most standard SFIC style Lock Sets. Lock Sets could be lever style, knob style and deadbolt locks.
Arrow Point SFIC:
The Arrow Point Lock Core is constructed out of solid brass with a reinforced sleeve design. This lock is designed as a direct replacement for Best style lock cores and is available in most of the popular competitor keyways. The Point SFIC is available in either 6 or 7 pin or two different finishes (US26D and US4) satin and polished brass. Features of the Arrow Point:

Medeco SFIC X4:
The X4 SFIC lock provides patented key control and is designed to retrofit into most current SFIC style door hardware. The X4 is capable of creating large master systems. The main design point is the ability to provide strict key control over key duplication. Features of the Medeco X4:

Medeco XT:
The Medeco SFIC –XT provides an electronic locking system that can retrofit into most current SFIC door hardware. You can lock or unlock this lock without the need to provide power to the lock by external wiring. All power to open the lock is provided by the key which also controls access into the lock and stores opening and closings. Features of the Medeco XT:
- Controlled Access
- Electronic Rekeying and Scheduling

- All Programming is done at the Key
- Rechargeable Key Battery
- Audit Control
